NYSAPF Education Fund

Help us celebrate the 10 year anniversary of our Executive Director, Libby Post, being at the helm of the Fed and the Education Fund!

You read that right. Libby was hired in November of 2013 to run the Federation. It had ten members--today there are over 100 shelters and rescues who are members of the Fed and enjoy the benefits of the New York State Animal Protection Federation Education Fund.

The Fund was created to provide needed technical services such as low-cost grant writing and shelter standards consulting services to members of the Federation. We don't do the direct care but we help those who do!

  • ShelterU is a professional development program that tackles some of the thornier issues shelter professionals face.
  • Low-cost grant writers for Federation members who apply for Companion Animal Capital Fund grants.
  • Our Companion Animal Care Standards Act for Shelters and Rescues Consulting Services has helped 18 shelters in upstate and on Long Island prepare for this ground breaking legislation that takes effect on December 15, 2025.

The Education Fund has proven to be an effective partner for Federation members across New York. Your support will help us continue this important work and celebrate Libby's tenure at the helm of both organizations!
