In 2007, a group of undocumented youth created the NYSYLC to articulate and advocate for the unique demands of New York’s undocumented youth, and to build undocumented-led spaces for empowerment and expression outside of policy advocacy alone.

The New York State Youth Leadership Council (NYSYLC) is the first undocumented youth-led organization in New York. We give undocumented youth the tools and space to organize and create change for their communities.
Through programs for educational advancement, grassroots organizing, leadership development, and self-expression, we create a space for undocumented youth to step into their power and create the change they wish to see.
