I am mother to four daughters and stepmother to two. I have lived in Oxford Area School District for 15 years. I am proud of my children and the education they received in our schools, and I believe there is still more work to do for our kids.
My oldest daughter graduated from Oxford Area High School and went on to become an Architect. Her career choice was cultivated by her teacher, Mr. James, at Penns Grove Middle School. My second daughter, who has epilepsy, graduated from Oxford Area High School during the COVID pandemic. She is a Dental Assistant and will be entering Dental Hygienist School in the fall of 2023. I have a daughter currently at Penns Grove Middle School. She is in 8th grade with a 3.9 GPA. My baby daughter attends Jordan Banks for kindergarten and suffers from a congenital heart defect.
With my girls and as a foster parent, I've have vast amounts of experience with the Oxford schools, and I will bring a mother's perspective to the board. I understand the challenges of parenting students with IEPs, 504 plans, and students in AP classes. As a board member, I will always put our children first.
I live and work in our community. I am an epilepsy specialist nurse and work at Ware Presbyterian. I am also a hair braider at 3rd Street Parlor. In my free time, I volunteer with children in our community.
