Support the Massachusetts Youth Climate Coalition in raising $750 to host a summit on October 29th 2023 at MIT to connect young climate advocates across Massachusetts! These funds will be used to cover food and merchandise for our 2023 MYCC Summit.

Where: Stata Center, MIT - 32 Vassar St, Cambridge, MA 02139

When: Saturday October 29, 9:00AM - 3:30PM

What: This in-person summit will feature speakers, tabling, and youth-led workshops from MYCC groups and adult supporters. We have 5+ youth-led workshops on topics such as climate lobbying, climate education, En-ROADs, native plants, and more. We hope you support us in achieving our goal to build community, share insights, and inspire action for MYCC!

The Massachusetts Youth Climate Coalition (MYCC) is a youth-led and adult-supported network of climate organizations dedicated to empowering youth in the climate movement. Founded in 2020, MYCC has grown to include thirty-five youth organizations and twenty-one adult supporter organizations. MYCC most importantly connects, mobilizes, and builds partnerships between youth leaders and their organizations; this goal is achieved through collaborative actions such as rallies, lobbying events, summits, and other large projects.

MYCC has hosted many virtual summits to engage members of the coalition through activities such as workshops. However, the pandemic has limited youth capacity and engagement, partly because of the disconnect from only interacting through a screen. This will be our first ever in-person summit, and we hope to strengthen interpersonal relationships and build community throughout our diverse coalition. We hope for this summit to be informative, collaborative, and most importantly exciting. Finally, this summit will rejuvenate our connections and give us energy for the work ahead.

The summit will be held on Saturday, October 14 at the Stata Center on the MIT Campus, from 9-3:30pm. Look out for tables from groups throughout the coalition to learn more about the cool projects youth and adult supporters have been engaging in. Also, get excited for workshops from Our Climate, MA Citizens’ Climate Lobby Youth, Youth Climate Action Network, Spring Forward, and more! Pizza and salads will be provided for lunch, along with snacks throughout the day. We will also be holding a t-shirt fundraiser at the summit so that MYCC can continue to host in-person events like this one.

Our Climate and MIT students within the coalition have also generously contributed to location and catering costs. This fundraiser will help us close the gap. Any leftover funds will be dedicated to planning for future events such as the upcoming 2024 Lobby Week.
