2023 marks 15 years of Oakland Rising Action building a true progressive voice and a progressive political landscape in Oakland. We're throwing a party to celebrate all of our collective wins! Join us on Thursday, July 13th for the annual Oakland Progressives Party + Townie Awards event, where we'll recognize the work of our community and allies in building a truly progressive voice and political landscape in Oakland.


We are thrilled to honor the following Townie recipients for their outstanding contributions to lifting up racial, economic and environmental justice in The Town:


  • Townie of the Year: Saabir Lockett
  • Culture Maker Townie: Sogorea Te' Land Trust 
  • Government Official Townie: Councilmember Carroll Fife 
  • Local Business Townie: Mandela Grocery 


By purchasing your ticket, you’re supporting our campaigns -- Oakland's LARGEST ground campaigns to bring resources into our communities. And as we continue to run campaigns, our base of nearly 50,000 supportive voters will continue to grow!
