We are developing an online and offline training program in order to best support Black leaders and allies working for racial justice across the country to build their digital campaigning skills. This kind of training is invaluable, but also logistically demanding. Thomas, this is why we need to raise $50,000. When we support Black leaders in learning digital skills, we’re preparing people to make life better for Blacks folks in our neighborhoods, on our campuses, and in our prisons.
To make the training program accessible, we need to purchase a software that simulates a virtual classroom— fit for demonstrations and discussions— so we can build relationships and commitment. We’ve learned this is the most effective technology for teaching people how to run winning digital campaigns.
We are also planning in-person trainings in states— like North Carolina and — where mobilizing and protecting Black voters’ rights is critical to winning the election. The money we raise will travel and lodging for trainers and participants, training space, food, printing and learning materials.
