$5 Friday: Fund Advocacy Work for Civilian Climate Corps
Sierra Club's Outdoors for All program works to expand universal access to nature, which is why we are advocating for Congress to fund a bold Civilian Climate Corps (CCC) program.
What is CCC?
A modern CCC, inspired by the New Deal, is one of the most popular, exciting components of the American Jobs Plan to Build Back Better. An ambitious Corps would not only provide 300,000 good-paying jobs in its first year for youth across the country, but also address the other challenges we face. It would create the next generation of environmental leaders, kickstart the climate workforce mobilization, and take on racial injustice by prioritizing resources and job creation in underserved communities.
Access to nature is a human right, and building an outdoors that is truly for all will require work from the highest levels of power to grassroots activists.
