Paint & Sip to Support the Reyes Family

Come paint, connect, and show up for the Reyes family. As they face the loss of their primary source of income while Gerardo remains detained, all proceeds from this event will go directly to helping the family keep up with bills and work toward Gerardo’s freedom.

We will provide painting materials, as well as mocktails and other refreshments. This is a BYOB event, you are encouraged to bring your preferred alcohol and drink responsibly.

On March 14, 2026, Gerardo Reyes was arrested by the San Marcos Police Department following a traffic stop initiated in response to a report that a 15-year-old girl had entered a red truck. Officers located a vehicle matching the description and stopped it, with Gerardo as a passenger and his 17-year-old son, Esteban Reyes, driving.

During the stop, officers ordered Esteban to exit the vehicle. When he questioned the reason and did not immediately comply, officers attempted to remove him. Gerardo, trying to protect his son, intervened.

Both were arrested and charged with interference with public duties. KABB

Authorities later confirmed that the reported 15-year-old girl had never left her home, meaning no underlying crime had occurred.

Despite this, Gerardo was transferred to ICE custody after being booked into jail due to an existing immigration detainer. He remains in the Hutto Detention Center and is now facing possible deportation.
