About Connie Chan

Born in Hong Kong, Connie moved to San Francisco at the age of 13 with her mother and younger brother. While learning a new language and a new culture, the family was able to obtain a rent-controlled apartment in Chinatown. After graduating from Galileo High School, Connie earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California – Davis, and then went to work giving back to the community that had done so much for her family. First elected in 2020, Connie has served as the Chair of the Board of Supervisors Budget Committee since February 2023. As a candidate, Connie Chan has pledged to become an immediate sponsor of the Block the Bombs Act which would prohibit the United States from transferring weapons to Israel that have been used by the Israeli military in Gaza. Connie will also oppose all weapon sales to Israel and sending any more taxpayer money or other aid to Israel. Connie believes Congress must demand accountability including sanctions, and must commit to cooperating with relevant international judicial proceedings for those who have committed war crimes, genocide or acts of genocide.
