Morgan Harper was a senior advisor for Elizabeth Warren's Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Now, she's running against incumbent Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, a Democrat who has taken over $2 million in corporate PAC money, helped Republicans disenfranchise voters through gerrymandering, and actively calls Medicare for All and a Green New Deal a "pipe dream."
In this very blue district, we can do better. We're lucky to have an inspiring rockstar.
Morgan was born and raised in this Columbus-area district. She lived in a foster home before being adopted by her mother, an immigrant from Trinidad. She earned a law degree at Stanford and fought predatory lenders at the CFPB.
The NY Times reports "there are similarities between Ms. Harper, 36, and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York" as she campaigns against economic segregation and for Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, a Jobs Guarantee, and universal child care.
Morgan out-fundraised her incumbent opponent for much of last year and was ready for a March 10 election. Because of the pandemic, her primary was moved to April 28 -- and she needs an infusion of Get Out The Vote money now.
Can you chip in $3 to Morgan Harper's campaign for Congress and our work to elect her?
