Peace Action is thrilled to endorse Graham Platner in his race for US Senate in Maine.
Born and raised in Maine, Graham Platner is a Marine and U.S. Army veteran, oyster farmer, and chair of the Sullivan Planning Board. Now, frustrated by a system that’s leaving working families further and further behind, Platner is running for Senate and looking to topple Susan Collins, who has held onto her seat since 1997. He has been consistently and vocally anti-war in public. He deeply believes that "if the Democratic Party is to flourish in the future, it needs to be an antiwar party" including standing against the genocide in Gaza. "I have not minced words on this issue. We are sending American taxpayer dollars to underwrite the starvation of Gaza, in what can only be accurately described as a genocide. I stand with all people seeking peace, democracy, and self-determination. In this moment, that means a clear-eyed condemnation of the Gaza genocide, and the use of every means available to America to bring it to an end."
