Peace Action is thrilled to endorse Mai Vang in California's 7th Congressional district.
Mai Vang is the daughter of Hmong refugees who fled the war in Laos and moved to Sacramento. The oldest of 16 children, Mai became a community organizer after college, was elected to the School Board in 2016, and has served on the Sacramento City Council since 2020. Her anti-war stances are personal. "My family fled the CIA’s Secret War in Laos as Hmong refugees. I carry the memory of what happens when our government chooses war over diplomacy: families torn apart and trauma that haunts generations. Today, as conflict devastates communities from Gaza to Iran to Ukraine to Sudan, our mission must be to protect life—not fund its destruction. We need a representative who refuses to profit from the industries fueling this violence. I will fight to redirect our tax dollars from endless wars abroad into healthcare and housing here at home."
Supporting candidates like Mai Vang through Peace Action lets them know that diplomacy and peace issues are a priority that you want to see them take leadership on. Please support Mai Vang today!
