Born in Texas to Indian immigrants, Saikat Chakrabarti moved to San Francisco after college to pursue a tech career. In 2016, he joined Bernie’s presidential campaign and saw the important role politics play. After Bernie’s loss, Chakrabarti helped to found Justice Democrats and ran AOC’s historic 2018 campaign, eventually becoming her chief of staff. Saikat wants a foreign policy of peace that would see an end to the Gaza genocide and US-led/compliant wars. "We need to stop bombing and sanctioning countries every chance we get. We’ve destroyed our standing with the world and our unhinged foreign policy is leading us to ruin. We need to have a complete change in our foreign policy to become one where we follow international law and do business with other countries instead of coercing them."
