Donate For Equity, Change & Better 16th Ward
Peter Barnes a servant born and raised in the 16th Ward. Peter has contributed greatly to the 16th Ward personally donating over $25,000 to The Urban Male Network (2025) and designed / completed the construction of it’s basketball court at 6500 S Carpenter while watching this community grow — and struggle — through every economic cycle.
He's mentored and employed dozens of youth, help to organize, donated and assisted in annual Thanksgiving Drives and shown up at community meetings — not because he had to, but because this ward is his home and he cares about what happens here.
Peter has spent years working in community development, helping small businesses navigate city bureaucracy and advocating for infrastructure investment that too often bypassed the 16th Ward. He knows how City Hall works — and he knows how to fight when it doesn't work for us.
Contribution rules
- I am at least eighteen years old.
- This contribution is made from my own funds, and funds are not being provided to me by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution.
- I am a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident (i.e., green card holder).
- I understand that by ordinance of the City of Chicago, no lobbyist registered with the Board of Ethics, or person who has done business with City within the preceding four reporting years, or person who is seeking to do business with the City, shall contribute over $1,500 during a calendar year. This includes persons doing or seeking to do business with the: City of Chicago, Chicago Transit Authority, Board of Education, Chicago Park District, Chicago City Colleges, Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, Chicago Housing Authority, or Public Building Commission.
