Illinois Care: Building a Realistic Path Toward Universal Healthcare in Illinois

You a doing more than just making a campaign contribution. You are investing in a movement to make healthcare in Illinois actually work, so no one has to die unnecessarily, delay treatment out of fear, or go bankrupt because they got sick.

We have been waiting more than 80 years since President Truman first called for national health insurance. Eight decades of commissions, promises, proposals, and political hesitation.

At some point, “we can’t” stops being an excuse and starts being a choice.

Illinois Care is about choosing differently.

  • Choosing to stop repeating the same cycle of delay and disappointment.
  • Choosing to take a real, workable step toward Medicare for All–level outcomes.
  • Choosing to build something that actually moves us forward instead of talking about moving forward.

And this moment matters because it is not happening in a vacuum; it is happening in an election year.

  • Every member of the Illinois House is on the ballot this cycle.
  • Half of the Illinois Senate is on the ballot.
  • The Governor is on the ballot in 2026.

That means they are listening right now. Not after the election. Not after the moment passes. Now, while voters still have leverage.

Your contribution helps pay for the basic but essential work that makes change real: printing, postage, and delivering this proposal directly to the desks of Illinois lawmakers and decision-makers at the perfect time.

Because if we do nothing, we already know how this story ends, more years of the same broken system, and another generation asking why nothing ever changed.

But if we do this work, we change the trajectory. No more waiting. No more excuses for why it can’t be done.

The perfect national moment isn't coming anytime soon. It’s time to build something real, achievable, where we still can. Illinois Care is that effort, and right now is when it either gets seen and moves forward or gets ignored.
