Oakland County Democratic Party (MI - Administrative)

65th Annual Phil Hart Dinner

Join the Oakland County Democratic Party for the 65th Annual Phil Hart Dinner on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

Honoring the Past. Meeting the Moment. Building the Future.

For 65 years, the Phil Hart Dinner has brought Democrats together to honor the legacy of U.S. Senator Philip A. Hart and recommit ourselves to the work of building a stronger future for our communities.

This year, we gather at a critical moment—one that calls us to reflect on the leaders who paved the way, confront the challenges facing Michigan families today, and continue building the people-powered movement that will carry us forward.

Join Democratic leaders, elected officials, community advocates, organizers, and supporters from across Oakland County and Michigan for an evening of fellowship, celebration, and purpose.

General Reception begins at 6:30 PM

Dinner begins at 7:30 PM

Additional program details and special guest announcements are coming soon.

Space is limited. Reserve your seat today and join us as we honor the past, meet the moment, and build the future.

Senator Hart was known for his intelligence and analytical mind. But the moral substance of his positions and the depth of his character made him the most trusted man in American politics of his day. As Coleman McCarthy wrote for the Washington Post, December 29, 1976: "He fronted for no one. His alliance were timeless ideals, no upstart lobbies... He bet, that the common vanities of hack politics -- image, smiles, calls for brighter days -- counted for little. Instead, he wagered that conscience and persistence could matter."

Join us as we celebrate the legacy of Senator Hart, celebrate the accomplishments of the Democratic Party, and coalesce for a Blue Wave this November!
