Santa Cruz Democrats 2022 Picnic

and Campaign Kickoff

Saturday August 27 1-4 pm

DeLaveaga Park, Santa Cruz, Forty Thieves picnic area

Individual tickets: $35-50

Sponsorships Available:

Individual champions: $250; District Champions: $500; State Champions: $1000; National Champions: $2500

2022’s a big year: Democrats are poised to elect the first two (amazing) women from our region to the California State Assembly. We have the first district elections in Santa Cruz, including a new Mayor, City Council races in all the other cities, and two open supervisorial runoff elections. And, there will be important state and local ballot propositions to consider as well as school boards, special districts, etc.

Santa Cruz Democrats vote: Mobilizing voters and achieving success on issues takes work. Our local turnout in June was 25% higher than statewide and among the very highest in the state. Living in a blue county obligates us to engage in swing districts and states around the country to make a difference. In 2020, we sent over 150,000 postcards and letters out into swing districts and states, which increased turnout by 8%.

Preserving our Democracy: women’s reproductive rights, voting rights, sensible gun safety, climate protection, housing, health care, working families, and others: This requires action locally, in Sacramento, and in Washington. We’ve seen that 50 Democratic Senators is not enough. And even with a strong Democratic majority in Sacramento, making progress on climate and housing is hard.

Join us on August 27 from 1-4 pm as we celebrate our successes and get recharged for this most important November election. All proceeds will fund our countywide campaign infrastructure.

See you there!
