
In 2018, State Representative Ajay Pittman became the first female millennial elected to represent Oklahoma’s 57th House District. She is the first statewide second-generation female legacy member to serve in House District 99 – her mother held the office for eight years previously.
Representative Pittman is praised for her bi-paartisan leadership and local community activism on healthcare, social justice, and economic development policies. She is the third Seminole elected to the Oklahoma State Legislature and serves with dual citizenship as a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma.
Representative Pittman currently serves as chaplin, and was elected as incoming the 2nd Vice President of the National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women (N.O.B.E.L.), the National Federation of Women Legislators, the State Innovation Exchange of Progressive Legislators, and the National Council of Negro Women.
Representative Pittman truly loves serving her community and constituents. She lives by the words “services is the price that you pay for the space that you occupy”.
