Social worker Elizabeth Guzman was the first Latina immigrant to serve in the Virginia General Assembly.
Now, she's running to to return to the House of Delegates by flipping the TOSS-UP 22nd District, a must-win seat to expand the 1-seat Democratic majority.
Elizabeth came to America as a young single mother with $300 in her pocket. She worked three minimum wage jobs to afford a one-bedroom apartment and eventually worked her way through Northern Virginia Community College and earned two master’s degrees. She has spent her career in local government and human services which includes protecting children from neglect and abuse.
