Right now in Texas, you can be put in jail for the rest of your life for performing an abortion – a procedure that just a few months ago was a constitutionally protected right. Now more than ever, reproductive rights and abortion access are on the ballot and we have a duty to Planned Parenthood patients and supports to make abortion a decisive issue in every election.

Politicians aren’t just attacking our right to an abortion. They’re attacking our right to birth control and to health care. We must fight to take back our state in this election cycle, or we can expect to see further attacks on reproductive freedom during the next legislative cycle. If voters are not engaged and mobilized after the fall of Roe v. Wade and abortion being banned in Texas, extremists in the legislature will have been given a greenlight to continue to promote lies and harming the people they were elected to serve. We cannot let that happen. We have to do everything we can to close the gap and make the extremists pay for the harm they have caused Texans.
