Patriotic Millionaires Champion: John Cavanaugh (NE-02)

John Cavanaugh is running in the Democratic primary for Nebraska's open 2nd district. This seat has been a top priority pickup for Democrats the last few election cycles, but the incumbent Rep. Don Bacon has been able to hold on. Now that he's retiring, this is an open seat in a D+3 district that voted for Kamala Harris in 2024.

John is a State Senator with a dedicated record of fighting economic inequality, and he's considered the frontrunner in the primary after the most recent poll showed him with an almost thirty point lead over the next closest candidate.

John has raised an impressive $674,000 so far, and though he's being narrowly outraised by another candidate, we expect that to change soon. John is also endorsed by the Congressional Progressive Caucus; Reps. Ro Khanna, Pramila Jayapal, Greg Casar, and Jamie Raskin; End Citizens United; and has all the union support in the race.

The primary is on May 12, and though we expect John to win, we can't take anything for granted and need to do everything we can to support him now. John is a strong supporter of taxing the rich, raising the minimum wage, and getting corporate PAC money out of politics, and Patriotic Millionaires is proud to endorse his campaign.
