Patriotic Millionaires Champion: Kat Abughazaleh (IL-09)

Kat Abughazaleh is running in the Democratic primary for Illinois's 9th district, which was vacated by the retirement of Rep. Jan Schakowsky. Kat is a journalist and highly successful social media influencer who rose to prominence for her work with Media Matters. She is running on a platform that is extremely aligned with our priorities, and she is very enthusiastic to start promoting our agenda. She is a highly effective and adept communicator, which will make her a great champion for our issues in Congress.


Though the primary is expected to be crowded, Kat is in a great position early on and is leading the pack in fundraising. If she can get through the primary, which she will need help to do, she is almost certainly going to be elected to Congress in this safe D+19 seat.
