2021 Women's Event with Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley

The Polk County Democratic Party is thrilled to welcome Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley as the headliner for the 2021 Polk County Women’s Event. She will be joined by Congresswoman Cindy Axne for a live, virtual town hall aimed at celebrating the success of women in elected office.
The 2021 Women’s Event will feature a live discussion with questions from attendees. The event will be moderated by Polk County Dems Executive Director Judy Downs. Congresswoman Cindy Axne will also make remarks and help to inspire even more women to run for office and become involved in campaigns.
Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley is an advocate, a policy-maker, an activist and the first woman of color to be elected to Congress from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She has been an advocate for the rights of new citizens, led the creation of the Future of Transportation caucus and fought to protect critical reproductive rights.

Sponsorships at $100 and above will include a "Iowa Democratic Women" lapel pin mailed to you (Friend, Supporter, Sponsor, Host and Defender tickets). The 2021 pin (below right) was inspired by a vintage lapel pin found at a local antique store (below left). Only 100 pins were printed, so get them while you can!
