Powering Anti-War Organizing: An Event Sponsored by RootsAction & Defuse Nuclear War

Join us on Thursday, June 26 at 6 PM in D.C. for a timely and urgent in-person conversation with Representative Ro Khanna and grassroots leaders and activists about how we can stop the march to war with Iran.

As tensions rise in the Middle East and the threat of direct U.S. military involvement grows, grassroots movements must play a central role in pressing for diplomacy, accountability, and peace.

This event, hosted by RootsAction and the inspiring Andy Shallal, will feature a special discussion with:

  • Congressman Ro Khanna - U.S. Representative (D-CA)
  • Hassan El-Tayyab — Legislative Director for Middle East Policy, FCNL
  • Hanieh Jodat - RootsAction, Defuse Nuclear War
  • Emma Claire Foley — Campaign Director, Defuse Nuclear War, RootsAction
  • Michael Greenberg — Organizer, Climate Defiance
  • Jeff Cohen — Co-founder, RootsAction
  • Phyllis Bennis — Fellow, Institute for Policy Studies

Hope to see you in D.C.!

For questions, please contact Hanieh Jodat at hanieh@rootsaction.org.

RootsAction is dedicated to galvanizing people who are committed to economic fairness, equal rights for all, civil liberties, environmental protection -- and defunding endless wars. We mobilize on these issues no matter whether Democrats or Republicans control Washington D.C.

We will not be silent as the federal government continues to squander billions of dollars on foreign wars, causing destruction and hatred overseas while failing to meet the needs of the vast majority of people in our country.

We will not stand by as people lose their jobs, homes, healthcare and income due to corporatist policies abetted by both major parties.

We will take action -- independent of both party leaderships.
