Contribution rules

  1. I am at least eighteen years old.
  2. This contribution is made from my own funds, and funds are not being provided to me by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution.
  3. I am a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident (i.e., green card holder).
  4. I am not a City Contractor, or the owner or the spouse or domestic partner of the owner of more than 7.5% of any City Contractor. I have not done business with the City of Chicago in the preceding four years.
  5. I am not a City of Chicago employee or appointee.
  6. I am not a lobbyist registered with the City of Chicago Board of Ethics.
  7. I am not a subcontractor to a City Contractor, or the owner or the spouse or domestic partner of the owner of more than 7.5% of a subcontractor to any City Contractor.
  8. Unless otherwise prohibited by the listed contribution rules, the following individuals or entities may contribute up to $1,500 during a calendar year: persons doing business with the Chicago Transit Authority, Chicago Board of Education, Chicago Park District, Chicago City Colleges, Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, Chicago Housing Authority, or Public Building Commission.
Contributions to Light PAC are not tax deductible for federal income tax purposes as charitable contributions. Illinois law requires us to collect and report the name and mailing address of every donor, as well as occupation and employer where contributions exceed $500 in an election cycle.
Light PAC is adopting the following contribution prohibitions: 1. I am not a City of Chicago employee. 2. I am not a lobbyist registered with the City of Chicago Board of Ethics. 3. I am not doing business with the City of Chicago and/or I am not in a bid or other contract solicitation process with the City of Chicago. 4. I am not a City Contractor, or the owner, or the spouse or domestic partner of the owner of more than 7.5% of any City Contractor. 5. I am not a subcontractor to a City Contractor, or the owner, or the spouse or domestic partner of the owner of more than 7.5% of a subcontractor to any City Contractor. The following individuals or entities may not contribute more than $1,500 during a calendar year: Persons doing business with the Chicago Transit Authority, Chicago Board of Education, Chicago Park District, Chicago City Colleges or Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority within the preceding four reporting years, and persons seeking to do business with the aforementioned entities.
