Open Books is a 501c3 nonprofit committed to fostering a more inclusive and representative school environment by donating uplifting, acclaimed, and age appropriate LGBTQ+ affirming story books to public school libraries.
These books are an invitation — a permission slip for kids to love themselves (or their classmates!) exactly as they are.
Open Books is powered directly by donations from supporters. Your contributions allow us to buy our curated books from publishers in bulk, and gift them to our public school partners.
When schools and districts accept these books, they send a message to their students, that ALL kids belong.
