AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka was a fearless and dedicated fighter for working families and the labor unions that built the American middle class. He spent his entire life lifting up the voices of workers and fighting for economic equality.
In honor of the life and legacy of Richard Trumka, I am once again calling on the Senate to pass the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act to give the American working class much needed support.
The PRO Act expands various labor protections related to employees' rights to organize and collectively bargain in the workplace. As I have put it many times, the PRO Act will level the playing field for workers.
We owe it to the American worker, to the legacy of Richard Trumka, and future generations to pass this important legislation.
