Timing:
- Doors open at 2:00 pm. Please arrive at 2:30 pm to allow time to sign in, get seated, and enjoy the music, including some choir singing. The program begins at 3:00 pm sharp and ends at 4:30 pm.
Childcare:
- Professional childcare will be provided. To ensure we have enough providers, please reply to this email with the ages of your children. (You can also bring your child into the main meeting!)
Accessibility accommodations:
- We’ll be on the third floor of the UIC Student Center East, in Illinois A and B. An elevator is available for people with mobility devices. If you are able, please use escalators to get to the third floor.
- Language access includes simultaneous ASL and Spanish interpretation in the venue and a Spanish language program/follow up information.
- The program is geared toward in-person participation, and we have accommodations for people using mobility devices. For folks that cannot attend in person, register here to participate via Zoom.
- We’ll have masks for anybody who wants one. If you feel sick on Oct 6, please stay home and participate via Zoom.
- If you need printed materials or special seating, let us know when you check in.
Getting there by CTA, bicycle, and car:
- The venue is close to the Blue Line UIC Halsted stop (exit on the far east end of the platform) and the Halsted bus.
- There are on-street bike racks available near the venue.
- Car parking is available in a garage at 760 W Taylor St, about a block walk from the Student Center East entrance. Parking is less than $10, but if the cost of parking is prohibitive, you can request a free pass when you sign in at the event.
