Donate to Pueblo Unido PDX

Becoming a Sustaining Member

With help from donors like you, Pueblo Unido has already provided trauma-informed services to over 300 Latinx immigrants and 14 people from other cultures at risk of deportation, successfully navigated over 50 people to free legal services, and spent over $106,000 to provide over 170 free legal consultations and pay towards 27 attorney retainers, six bonds, and three mental health evaluations. As a result, 15 people supported by PU have been released from detention, three of whom have already won their cases against deportation and received legal residency status.

Donor support helps us reach more people in our community and continue providing services at no cost to our clients. Your contribution to Pueblo Unido PDX will go towards:

  • A legal defense fund to help people facing deportation hire immigration attorneys and have the best possible chance to win their cases; and
  • Staff salaries and organizational start-up to increase our capacity for case management that protects immigrants’ rights.

With your help, we're getting closer and closer to having 100 percent of donations go directly towards legal defense.

Where Your Contribution Goes

"Every one of my clients Pueblo Unido has helped fund has either been released from detention at the Northwest Detention Center or won their deportation defense case."

—Cole Enabnit, Portland Immigration Law, Setember 2019

In summer 2019, three people supported by Pueblo Unido were able to bond out of detention and reunite with their families. Your monthly contributions will continue to make tangible impacts like this for more people in detention and/or facing deportation.

For example, a monthly $15 enables people in detention to communicate directly with their families, coordinate with advocates, hire attorneys, and post bonds.

A monthly contribution of $20 provides ongoing legal consultation support for people in detention to better understand their legal rights and options, make informed decisions about whether to hire an attorney and strengthen their defense against deportation.

$50

Enables someone facing deportation to explore their removal defense options and determine their likelihood of success with an attorney

$15/month

Provides someone in detention with ongoing access to phone communication with family and legal resources

$20/month

Provides free legal consultations to up to 12 people in detention per month
