Sharice Davids

US House - KS-03 | Kansas City – Sharice Davids

Recommended Amount: $2,900

The Candidate: Rep. Sharice Davids (D) was first elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2018. A member of the Ho-Chunk Nation tribe, she worked her way from community college to Cornell Law School. Prior to serving in Congress, Davids worked as an attorney, served a White House fellowship during President Barack Obama's administration, and practiced professional mixed-martial arts.

The Case for Support: Rep. Davids was part of the most diverse wave of freshmen elected to Congress that catapulted Democrats back into the majority. She is the first openly LGBTQ member of Congress from Kansas and one of the first Native American women elected to Congress. Now that former Rep. Deb Haaland is serving as Interior Secretary, Davids is the only Native American woman in Congress.
