The Q Trust - Pennsylvania Slate

Local and national advocates have been working in Pennsylvania for the last decade or more trying to advance pro-LGBTQ legislation. While the State Senate advanced housing and employment protections through one committee, it is clear that Republican leadership will not bring them to the floor in both chambers despite there already being enough votes for passage. If Democrats win nine seats in the State House and four seats in the State Senate, they will have a trifecta with Governor Tom Wolf (D) to advance a strong progressive agenda including a package of pro-LGBTQ pieces of legislation. Even gaining control of one chamber would increase the leverage of the LGBTQ advocates on the ground. Pro-equality champion Josh Shapiro faces his first re-election and needs support to win in November.
