Queer the Vote

This year, three queer candidates are running for local office here in Brooklyn. Join us at Metropolitan bar on February 29 or send your support to:

  • Genesis Aquino for New York State Assembly AD51
  • Jesse Pierce for District Leader AD52
  • Samy Nemir Olivares for District Leader AD53


In proportion, there should be over 20,000 LGBTQ elected officials nationwide. But we have less than one thousand. Let's start electing some in our backward!


Brooklyn only has 1 LGBTQ legislator, Councilmember Carlos Menchaca, whose term expires in 2021. If no queer candidate wins, we might not have representation for a decade.
