Nelsie Yang ran for city council four years ago to champion the equitable investments and policies rooted in racial, economic, gender, and climate justice that our community in the East Side of Saint Paul deserved. Through the grassroots power of the community coming together, she got elected in 2019 and is proud to run for re-election this year!
As a progressive leader and the youngest and first Hmong American woman Saint Paul Councilmember, Nelsie has been a champion for:
- Repairing our street infrastructure
- Rent stabilization & tenant rights
- Building a pathway to renovate our most outdated rec centers and libraries in the East Side
- Collaborating with community organizations and HourCar to launch an E-car program all throughout our city
- Deeply affordable housing
