We are so excited to announce our headlining performer, Hal Sparks!
Hal is a stand-up comedian, television and radio host and television personality.
Although born in Ohio, Hal moved to the Chicago area at 14 and went to New Trier High School. At 17, he won the Funniest Teenager in Chicago contest.
His screen debut was in the television movie, Frog, starring Shelley Duvall, Elliott Gould and Scott Grimes in 1987.
He moved to Los Angeles and did stand up for years. He starred in Queer As Folk, Dude, Where's My Car, I Love The 80s, and many more. He can currently be heard on WCPT 820AM on Saturdays at 11am in addition to daily on his YouTube channel, Infotainmentwars.
Our Host for the evening is none other than Patti Vasquez!
For over 20 years, Patti Vasquez has been traveling the world as a headlining stand-up comic in comedy clubs, casinos, and colleges. Her TV special MY LIFE IS A JOKE aired on The Oprah Network and she co-hosted the daytime talk show pilot FUNNY GIRLS for ABC Television. For six years the Chicago native hosted her own nightly talk show PRETTY LATE WITH PATTI VASQUEZ on WGN and was #1 in its time slot. Now, she is the host and executive producer of the wildly popular DRIVING IT HOME WITH PATTI VASQUEZ on WCPT, Chicago's HEARTLAND SIGNAL, where she brings her unique blend of humor and political insight to talk radio.
If that wasn't enough, we've added three more excellent comedians to the line-up:
JOE KILGALLON
Described by the Chicago Tribune as having "a straight shooting, pull-no-punches style", Joe has performed at clubs and colleges all over America. He's been a personal opener for stars such as Hannibal Buress, Roy Wood Jr and Steve Byrne. With material ranging from alcohol to sex, Kilgallon is sure to rant about something the whole family can enjoy. Joe has released 3 albums that have all debuted #1 on the iTunes Comedy Charts! Joe has appeared in NBC's Chicago Med and was a segment producer on MTV's Ridiculousness.
SOLI SANTOS is a Chicago-born writer, actor, and comedian whose sharp wit and storytelling have made her a standout on stage and screen. A graduate of The Second City and iO Chicago, Soli has brought her smart, fearless humor to iconic venues including Zanies, The Improv, and The Laugh Factory.
She’s shared the stage with powerhouse comedians like Cameron Esposito (A Million Little Things), Patti Vasquez (My Life is a Joke), Carmen Lynch (The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon), Marcella Arguello (Abbott Elementary), and many more.
On stage, Soli has been an understudy for Timeline Theater’s Hundreds and Hundreds of Stars, at The Looking Glass Theater, and was a proud cast member of Urban Theater Company’s Not For Sale, nominated for the prestigious Jefferson Award. On screen, she’s appeared in the web series The Haven and The Open Mic, as well as sketches for The Onion. Her comedy writing and performances have been featured at Second City’s Mary Scruggs Women’s Sketch Festival, and her sketch group Minority Rules was spotlighted on WGN.
Soli is also a former co-producer of Las Locas Comedy and co-writer of multiple original projects. You can catch her in the Amazon Prime comedy Enter the Mollusk—or find her making audiences laugh (and think) across social media at @SoliComedy.
DWAYNE KENNEDY is a stand-up comedian, actor and writer. As a producer, he won a 2019 Emmy Award Winner for the CNN original series United Shades of America.
Described as a “world-class stand-up” by The Village Voice and “legendary” by the Chicago Tribune, Dwayne is one of the funniest, most thought-provoking and influential comedians of our time. His satirical diversions and piercing perspective on social and world issues showcase a comedic genius heralded by the likes of Chris Rock and Marc Maron.
Winner of Best Comedian at the 2002 HBO US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Dwayne has performed on The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The New Negroes and has both a Comedy Central Presents and Showtime special.
A former writer and correspondent for the Chris Rock-produced, critically acclaimed FX original series, Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, Dwayne has also written for The Arsenio Hall Show (CBS) and The Orlando Jones Show (FX). Dwayne’s acting credits include roles on such classic series as Seinfeld, Martin, 227, Amen and the upcoming Lindy West/ Ahamefule J Oluo penned indie-film Thin Skin.
