Support Rep. Abdelnasser Rashid's re-election campaign. Let's send him back to Springfield to continue being a strong, courageous voice for the 21st District.

As State Representative, Abdelnasser is putting people, families and communities first, not corporate special interests. He is fighting to root out corruption, fund public education, and work to fix our broken property tax system.

His family’s story drives him to fight for our families. More than 50 years ago, Abdelnasser's parents moved to America from a rural Palestinian village to build a better life for their family. Abdelnasser grew up helping his mother run a booth at the local flea market and his father operate a small retail business in Chicago. He went on to receive his degree from Harvard University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Abdelnasser is the first Palestinian-American elected to the Illinois legislature. In his first term, Abdelnasser passed legislation making Illinois the first state in the country to count Arab Americans in state data; passed a measure to expand access to affordable housing; and fought for a state budget that is socially responsible and fiscally sound. Abdelnasser was recently appointed by Illinois House Speaker Welch as co-chair of Illinois' artificial intelligence (AI) task force.

Abdelnasser lives with his wife and three children in Bridgeview.
