Leadership We Can Trust: Rushern Baker for County Executive

In uncertain times, we deserve leadership we can trust.

That’s why I’ve decided to run for Prince George’s County Executive again.

As your County Executive from 2010 to 2018, I worked tirelessly to move Prince George’s County forward, and together, we accomplished remarkable progress.

During my administration, Prince George’s led the state in job creation five years in a row. We created over 6,000 jobs, trained more than 40,000 residents for emerging industries, and facilitated an unprecedented $10 billion in economic development. By raising the county’s commercial tax base, we secured critical revenues to invest in our schools, infrastructure, and essential community programs.

We also made our County safer; overall crime dropped by 50%, and violent crime was reduced by 58%, thanks to the successful implementation of the Transforming Neighborhood Initiative (TNI). TNI was a groundbreaking community-centered policing strategy that brought law enforcement, residents, and local organizations together to address the root causes of crime and create safer, stronger communities.

Prince George’s County thrived under our leadership, but there is still more work to be done. I’m eager to finish what we started—together. I believe that when people come together, great things happen. With your support, we can continue to make Prince George’s County a place where all families thrive.
