A Super Pac For The People.

In the first quarter of the twentieth century, Wisconsin leaders began to seek new answers to problems caused by an increasingly industrial and technological society. To people born and raised mostly on farms, the explosive growth of cities, rising importance of large-scale industry, the transformation of the workforce by rigid class stratification, and the overall speed of daily life brought uncertainty and confusion.

Sound familiar? The “Wisconsin Idea” was our greatest answer to the problems facing Wisconsin—and our most indelible contribution to the democracies of the world in the 20th century.

In the 21st, Reboot Wisconsin is focused on putting our state and federal houses in order. We are helping to create a modern, agile, and robust democracy that is inclusive of everyone. We will not only hold our politicians to account, but inspire the next wave of bold leadership for Wisconsin’s future.

No one sets out to start a Super PAC. It’s an unbecoming term that means big money burying the little guy. We’re here to turn the tables on the concept, and create a Super PAC not only of the people — but one actually driven by the people.

The very first political PAC was established in 1944, when the Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO) raised money for the reelection of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The CIO collected money through voluntary contributions from union members directly—rather than union treasuries, in order to bypass the Smith-Connally Act of 1943, which forbade unions from contributing to federal candidates.

We have big ideas for how to make our Democracy work for all of us again.
