Nearly one year after serving the Red Balloon Early Childhood Learning Center with an eviction notice, Columbia University reversed this decision and has committed to investing financial resources into renovating and revamping the center’s building and community spaces.
This is a significant win for Red Balloon and West Harlem families and all those who have or will encounter barriers to high-quality education —from the rollback of affirmative action to the $1.6 trillion student debt crisis.
Now more than ever, we must pull together our resources and efforts to support Black students and defend Black families. Will you chip in $15 or what you can afford to power Color Of Change’s education and economic justice campaigns?
