Born into poverty in the mountains of Virginia, David spent his childhood in foster care. He was the first in his family's 300 year history to attend college. Committed to giving back to the country that gave him so much, David enlisted in the US Navy Reserve, serving for 23 years and retiring a Commander.
After the 2016 election, David had to find another way to serve. That’s when he ran for the Virginia House of Delegates, winning in an upset against an incumbent Republican. Now, after six years in office, David is running to represent VA-10, his home for the last 24 years, in Congress.
