Dear Friends,
This week, Assembly Republicans convened a special session of the legislature to address the healthcare crisis in Wisconsin – a crisis they created when they rejected a federal grant to expand health care coverage.
But instead of doing the right thing and taking responsibility for their mistakes, they rejected a plan my Democratic colleagues and I proposed that would provide health care access to 85,000 more people, and would save $86 million over the next two years.
Instead of putting the well-being of Wisconsinites first, Republicans chose to continue their pattern of rejection and finger-pointing. Rather than acting in our state’s best interest, they’ve decided to focus on supporting Governor Walker’s presidential ambitions.
But our work doesn’t end here.
My Assembly Democratic colleagues and I are dedicated to ensuring adequate health care access for all Wisconsinites, and we won’t stop working until we get there. Governor Walker already has his eyes on the White House, but we haven’t lost sight of what’s important: serving our state.
In order to accomplish our goals and put Wisconsin first, we need your support. Will you commit to giving $100, $50, $25, or whatever you can afford today to help us improve health care access for all?
As always, my colleagues and I truly appreciate your help. We could not do this important work without you.
Sincerely,
Rep. Sandy Pasch Assistant Democratic Leader
