Support State Rep. Will Guzzardi

State Representative Will Guzzardi is a progressive Democrat from the Northwest Side of Chicago. His district includes the Logan Square, Portage Park, Belmont-Cragin, Avondale and Hermosa communities.

Originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Guzzardi attended Brown University, where he graduated with a degree in comparative literature, and has lived in Logan Square ever since. He is passionate about education, and has taught after school programs and tutored school children for 10 years.

Before being elected in 2014, Will worked as a reporter for Huffington Post Chicago, where he did pioneering investigative reporting and shone a light on the often unseen and under-appreciated work of nonprofit groups and community organizations across the city. Through this work, Will learned about the critical impact of state policy on the lives of his neighbors, and how the political status quo was failing to meet the needs of the most vulnerable in his community. In the 2014 Democratic primary, he defeated a Machine-backed incumbent with the help of an insurgent grassroots campaign in one of the most closely watched elections in the state.

During his first term as State Representative Will has worked to put the needs and values of his constituents first, by fighting for legislation that will benefit working people and families. He has focused on public education, criminal justice reform, LGBTQ rights, and income inequality, among other issues.
