Last Session, I filed HB 75, the Georgia Reproductive Justice Act. Chair Cooper never gave us a hearing, but the bill is still alive for the 2024 Session.

So it's time to step up the pressure! We cannot let Georgia's 6 week abortion ban stand! It's a violation of our fundamental right to bodily autonomy and the freedom to decide if, when, and with whom we start a family.

It's also extremely dangerous when we already have a shortage of reproductive healthcare providers in Georgia - only half of our 159 counties even have an OB-GYN in their county. And medical students and residents are declaring they will not stay in Georgia if they cannot provide evidence-based care for their patients without fearing criminal prosecution or losing their livelihood. Georgia has the highest maternal mortality rate in the country and it will only get worse because of this ban.

Many of you have asked me how we can put more pressure on Republicans about this issue. I am ready to come up with a bold campaign to do just that.

But frankly, it's too big of a job for just me. I need to hire an experienced person to help me prepare and execute this vitally important campaign if we hope to make a real impact before January.
