Reproductive Rights Are Human Rights

Abortion Is Healthcare.

Healthcare Is A Human Right.

Reproductive Rights Are Human Rights.

Let’s Protect Them Together.

Over the past several decades, the United States has seen a well-funded movement based on extremist illiberal ideologies infiltrate and entrench itself and its proponents in all three branches of our government. Though we *do*, in fact, still live in a democratic republic, this movement’s insidiousness and its proponents’ dishonest machinations have, in effect, secured power by minority rule.

The past decade has seen an unprecedented politicization of the justice system by this far-right extremist movement, in fact, a weaponization of it against the citizens it purports to serve, and nowhere in American government is the contrast between the will of “We, the people” and the will of this extremist minority rule sharper, more evident, or more dangerous than in the Supreme Court of the United States.

The recent leak of the SCOTUS draft, which if ruled as-is, would effectively overturn the longstanding decision in Roe v. Wade and eliminate national legal protections for the right to an abortion and turn the issue over to the individual states to legislate, is a stark and menacing example of the kind of unpopular and *unjust* decisions one might anticipate from such insidious minority rule in the Court, and “We, the people” must mobilize to protect our country, our humanity, and our right to start a family if, when, and how we choose, which includes protecting — and codifying the protection into law! — our right to safe, legal, accessible abortion care.

Yes, abortion is healthcare; healthcare is a human right; and reproductive rights are human rights! And we must work together in solidarity to protect them.

Join me in supporting my favorite longtime leaders for reproductive choice — Feminist Women’s Health Center of Atlanta, Georgia, a Black Woman-led leader in reproductive rights and healthcare for over 40 years, and NARAL Pro-Choice America — in their education, action, and advocacy for safe, legal, accessible abortion care and in the movement for reproductive rights, health, and justice!
