POLICE INVESTIGATING SAVAGE ICE BEATING IN MINNEAPOLIS

ICE agents told a hospital that Alberto Castañeda Mondragón ran headfirst into a brick wall.

He had eight skull fractures - front, back, both sides. Brain bleeding. He'd been sitting in a friend's car in a St. Paul parking lot when they pulled him out and beat him with a steel baton.

The doctors knew it was a lie. A federal judge ordered Alberto freed. The FBI opened an investigation. The Ramsey County DA is pursuing criminal conduct charges against federal agents.

This is the fourth incident in weeks where ICE agents in the Twin Cities brutalized someone and lied about it:

• Renee Good - U.S. citizen. Murdered.
• Alex Pretti - U.S. citizen. Nurse. Murdered.
• Julio Sosa Celis - Shot. Agents caught lying under oath.
• Alberto Castañeda Mondragón - Beaten with a steel baton. ICE claims he ran into a wall.

The surveillance footage from the parking lot is already gone - overwritten because no one asked for it for a month. ICE won't say if the agents had body cameras.
