The moment we warned about has arrived. ICE is ramping up for a massive deportation sweep targeting Haitian refugees after the Supreme Court allowed Trump to rescind their legal status.
But they are not detaining hundreds of thousands of people yet. They are summoning them to the ICE office in Cincinnati, locking a GPS tracker to their ankle, and sending them home to wait instead.
These are people who did everything right. The government took their legal status, voided their work permits, invalidated their documents -- and then gave them a number instead.
In 1942, the number went on a paper tag. Today it's on a GPS traceable ankle monitor.
THE RESISTMAP WARNING FUND:
Help us send out a text alert to warn the most at-risk community in Springfield, OH what's coming -- before the trucks arrive.
With data plus delivery, it costs about a dime to send a single warning. Every dime you give warns one more.
If you are able to consider a monthly contribution, that will help us keep up the fight - Springfield is the first wave facing this, but it won't be the last.
HERE'S WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR:
Hours ago, we began to receive reports that Haitian asylum seekers, recently stripped of their temporary protected status, received letters ordering them to appear before their local ICE office in Cincinnati, OH.
We have one of those letters.

Multiple reports indicate that those who comply with the order and appear as directed are being fitted with ankle monitors. The same kind of monitors used for people recently released from prison or out on bond awaiting trial -- supplied by BI Incorporated, a subsidiary of private prison giant GEO Group.
There is only one reason to place ankle monitors on someone, and that's to keep track of where they are at all times and control their movements so that when the government is ready, they can round them up swiftly and expedite their deportation before any court can stall them.
Rapid deportation of 350,000 people is a massive logistical burden. But ICE has been working on a way to solve that problem for months -- and we've been investigating. The monitors are not the operation. The monitors are the preparation.
I will not mince words. This is a life threatening, man-made humanitarian crisis in the making.
Our government is gearing up to ship these people back to a country many of them have not lived in for decades. One plagued by roving, murderous gangs, mass political violence, and rampant sexual assaults.
A country so violent and unstable that our own State Department maintains an active DO NOT TRAVEL ADVISORY with the same rating as war-torn Sudan.
No national media outlet is paying attention yet, and no one has connected the dots for what ICE is planning.
But we have. Every family we reach is a family that is not taken by surprise.
We have the watch,
