Ritchie Torres is a treasure.
He is has become a frequent target of The Squad, the Bernie camp, and Justice Dems because he speaks out against the socialist and antisemitic elements encroaching the Democratic party.

“New York has become ground zero for Democratic socialism... It only takes a few demagogues to poison the bloodstream of a political party," Torres said. "I see it as my mission to resist the Corbynization of progressive politics."
AOC once said if redistricting forced her into running against Torres , he "has an incentive to avoid that race."
”Some people wouldn’t want trouble for themselves,” AOC crowed.
It doesn't sound like Congressman Torres is worried. "[In 2020] Bernie Sanders, AOC, WFP, and DSA all endorsed my opponent... I sent a powerful message that you can win decisively as a pragmatic progressive without catering to the extremes."
