Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear to Keynote 2024 Roosevelt Kennedy Dinner in Charleston

September 18, 2024

Charleston, WV – The West Virginia Democratic Party is proud to announce that Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear will serve as the keynote speaker for this year’s Roosevelt Kennedy Dinner, the premier annual event for Democrats across the Mountain State. The dinner will be held on September 27th, 2024, from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM at the Charleston Civic Center.

“We are thrilled to have Governor Andy Beshear, a champion for working families and a proven leader in our region, join us as the keynote speaker for this year’s Roosevelt Kennedy Dinner,” said Pushkin. "Governor Beshear’s success in Kentucky, a traditionally red state, proves that a Democrat with strong values and a commitment to making government work for everyone can win even in the toughest political environments. His dedication to improving lives in Kentucky aligns with our own fight for progress in West Virginia. His message of leadership and hope will be an inspiration to our supporters as we look to move West Virginia forward in 2024.”

Beshear, who has earned national acclaim for his forward-thinking policies, will be addressing key issues that resonate with West Virginians, including economic development, healthcare access, and protecting reproductive freedoms. His leadership has helped shape Kentucky as a model for Democratic governance in a challenging political landscape, and his insights will be invaluable as West Virginia Democrats gear up for crucial races in the November elections.

In addition to Governor Beshear, the evening will feature speeches from our statewide Democratic candidates including Huntington Mayor Steve Williams, candidate for Governor, and Wheeling Mayor Glenn Elliott, candidate for United States Senator.

“This year’s Roosevelt Kennedy Dinner comes at a pivotal moment for our state. We have a slate of incredible Democratic candidates who are ready to lead West Virginia toward a brighter future,” Pushkin continued. “I encourage all West Virginians who believe in creating opportunities for everyone, expanding healthcare access, and fighting for working families to join us for this exciting and inspirational evening. Tickets may be obtained at www.wvdemocrats.com/rk .” Musical entertainment will be provided by The Carpenter Ants featuring nationally acclaimed singer/songwriter Nellie McKay
