Showrunners, Creators & Directors for Abortion Rights —State Fundraising

Join members of the film and television community in protecting the right to abortion.

While much attention is paid to the federal landscape, the fight for reproductive rights is increasingly at the mercy of state governments.

Contributions to the groups on this page will support the races that are most critical to advancing reproductive rights in the states, including state legislature seats, gubernatorial seats, and attorneys general.

Each organization we’re supporting specializes in a particular set of races at the state level and has

aggregated data to identify where our dollars are most needed right now. You can click the links below to visit their websites and learn more.

Additionally, voters in a number of states will be asked to enshrine or reject abortion rights via ballot measures. The campaigns to pass or defeat these ballot measures need financial support to power their organizing and outreach efforts.

You can divide your donation evenly among these groups or customize the amounts you donate to each.

STATE LEGISLATURE RACES

Your donations go to the strategic states on The States Project's 2022 target list with three clear priorities: flip chambers, defend majorities, and prevent rightwing supermajorities. They are currently investing in legislative races in Alaska, Arizona, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. The PAC for America's Future powers the electoral work of The States Project.

GOVERNOR RACES

The Democratic Governor's Association (DGA) Protect Reproductive Rights Fund supports gubernatorial races in states where access to abortion is at risk, including Arizona, Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin—states either with GOP legislatures who have passed anti-choice legislation recently blocked by a Democratic governor or states listed by the Guttmacher Institute as “certain or likely to ban abortion.”

ATTORNEYS GENERAL RACES

Attorneys Generals can choose to enforce or ignore abortion bans or protections. The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) PAC works to elect and support Democratic Attorneys Generals including in key battleground states. You can learn more about the races they’re supporting here

BALLOT MEASURES

Defend Freedom is the only national organization solely focused on defending and restoring reproductive rights at the ballot box, state-by-state. In 2022, they are focused on protecting or restoring abortion rights through ballot measures in Michigan, Montana and Kentucky.
