Last year, USPS changed the rules; mail will now be postmarked when it’s processed, not on the day that it’s sent. This could incorrectly label ballots mailed on election day as late and disenfranchise millions of voters.
This year, Trump’s taking it a step further. His massive voter suppression bill – the SAVE Act – is making its way through Congress. If it passes, it would be another blow to mail-in voting.
Nearly one third of Americans voted by mail in 2024, and over 900,000 of those voters were Americans who live and serve overseas. People vote by mail across all demographics: age, race, gender, party, geographic location, etc.
Mail-in voting is an essential part of our elections process. We cannot protect our democracy without protecting the millions of Americans who vote by mail.
Get Out The Vote does the critical work of voter outreach, organizing, and collaboration with campaigns. The best way you can help us continue our mission is by giving.
So we’re humbly asking: will you help us protect our democracy and chip in today?
