Rosenda is running for re-election to serve our community on the Dona Ana County Magistrate Court.


It’s been almost a year since Rosenda was elected to serve as your Division III Magistrate Court Judge. Since taking office, Judge Chavez-Lara has worked at the Las Cruces and Anthony courthouses, closing over 4,000 cases involving both civil and criminal matters, and is one of seven judges serving the Magistrate Court.


As a Magistrate Court Judge, Judge Chavez-Lara has worked on her caseload while also helping to develop treatment courts to help the community effectively resolve problems of sobriety, domestic violence, and homelessness, and organize free legal clinics throughout the county. 


Rosenda has worked in Doña Ana County since 2015 and lives with her family in Sunland Park.
